As a young Swiss artist, LANTHAR possesses a unique expressive ability to go through the
complexity of contemporary culture without any filters or ironic perspectives. She identified
herself early as a “luxury punk” artist,by making “trash couture” her own and embracing it
fully, and by using certain distinctive signs, forms and slogans in her artworks which
differentiate her through a unique perspective and point of view.
These signs are represented by the use of chains which are her hallmark and to be found in every artwork, applied with spray paint in different variations (almost in choreographic form), drawing up the elements which make her artworks original and fascinating, expressing a sense of escape and freedom.
Chains for the artist express that we are all one,the energetic universal connection of
humanity and at the same time the sense of imprisonment and constriction which we still find
in the thoughts and actions of contemporary society.
Her visual language brings to life images full of bright, vibrant, shining colors combined with graffiti, collage, straightforward slogans and strong emotions.
The end results of her artworks are seductive and captivating, creating visual compositions with subjects and symbols which aim to strike and amaze the viewer's perception and state of mind, leading him/her to identify in a profoundly different way with the styles contemplated by today's “official” and linear culture.
She loves to put the audience in a playful and challenging atmosphere of exploration and
imagination, as being punk for her means being yourself in a genuine and authentic way.
LANTHAR considers herself a multidisciplinary artist.
Her greatest source of inspiration comes from everyday life with everything which surrounds
it, from her love, her inner wisdom expressing true nature and the obsessive public
awareness to the ever-growing consumer society.
Her art is influenced by other recognizable artistic styles, such as street art for its use of
graffiti, spray paint and bright colors, but is also influenced by pop art and abstract
expressionism in a kaleidoscopic mashup which defies simple categorizations/descriptions.
Love is in the air.
